Fan favourite Sadio Mane has left for Bayern Munich and Divock Origi has also departed Anfield, while Takumi Minamino is on the verge of joining AS Monaco, meaning the depth of their attack will be lessened which could pave the way for another potential signing.
One player that has been linked with the club is Bayern forward Serge Gnabry and recent comments made by sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić (via Fabrizio Romano) could give Liverpool the green light to make a move for the player who is out of contract in 2023, therefore he could be available for €40m (£34m).
Klopp could unearth his very own Vinicius Jr in a deal for Gnabry, with the two being comparable via the similar player model on FBref.
The Brazilian has had a remarkable season at Real Madrid, which culminated in scoring the winner against Liverpool in the Champions League final and it feels like he is about to fulfil the potential that saw the Spanish side sign the then 16-year-old for an eye-catching £38m fee in 2017.
Both players certainly had an eye for goal last season, with Gnabry (17) and Vinicius Jr (22) propelling their respective sides to glory, although the Brazilian had double the number of assists as Gnabry (16 to 8).
The two forwards generated over four shot-creating actions per 90 each with the Real Madrid star (5.19) just edging the German international (4.55) but these stats show both are extremely dangerous to the opposition.
Even in terms of defensive discipline, both players registered 90 or more combined tackles and interceptions made over the season (Gnabry 90 and Vinicius Jr 91), which shows a growing maturity.
Former Bayern manager Niko Kovac described Gnabry as a “real weapon” whilst Transfermarkt’s Stefan Bienkowski dubbed the player as “magic” with the 26-year-old having an excellent season last term, Klopp should be making his move sooner rather than later.
