Liverpool have made three signings so far, but they have also let go of seven players so far and now a new update has emerged on another exit looming at Anfield from a reliable source.

What's the latest?

According to Football correspondent for The Athletic David Ornstein, Nottingham Forest are working on signing Liverpool right-back Neco Williams.

Ornstein tweeted:

"Nottingham Forest working to sign 2 wing-backs - Liverpool’s Neco Williams for right + Omar Richards of Bayern Munich for left. Talks are over permanent transfers & it's possible deals will be in place by this weekend."

Supporters could be gutted

With so many players already leaving the club this summer, supporters could be gutted to see Williams leave as well especially considering the development he has had and the improvement he has shown whilst on loan with Fulham in the Championship over the second half of last season.

The 21-year-old scored two goals, delivered two assists and created two big chances as he showcased his immense attacking potential.

He also made one key pass, 2.6 tackles, 1.6 clearances and 1.3 interceptions on average per game, whilst winning the majority of his ground and aerial duels combined (53%) and being successful in completing in the majority of his dribbles (51%) over 14 appearances.

Williams has also played a huge part in Wales' first World Cup qualification in 64 years, with seven impactful performances that will now see the youngster taking part in the prestigious international competition in Qatar at the end of this year.

The Liverpool gem scored one goal and delivered one assist while making one key pass, 2.1 tackles and two interceptions on average per game. That was as well as winning the majority of his duels (59%) and successfully completing the large majority of his dribbles (74%) too, proving that he is shaping up to be a great player for his country.

Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the Welshman and has given the player high praise on numerous occasions, even claiming Williams trains like a "machine" in an interview with the club's official website:

“Neco from the first day he trained with us, he trained like a machine.

“Every day he became better and better and better and I thought, OK, what’s that?!"

With that being said, Liverpool are struggling to offer the young right-back game time at Anfield due to Trent Alexander-Arnold comfortably taking the position in the team, so the sale would be in the best interests of Williams for him to continue to develop and grow as a player.
