Liverpool have been heavily pursuing attacker Fabio Carvalho since the January transfer window, and a new update has emerged on his move to Anfield this summer from a very reliable source.

What's the latest?

Fulham Vice-Chairman Tony Khan has spoken out to reveal a huge indication that Carvalho will leave Fulham to join Liverpool this summer.

Khan spoke out following Fulham's success in securing automatic promotion back to the Premier League (via Mirror);

"He’s a player we have always rated, coming out of the academy, and we would have loved to have kept him. But we have made a deal that is best for the club and, since that agreement, it’s worked out wonderfully because he has been such a valuable part of the promotion.

"He’s a huge part of the squad and it’s a massive loss but, because we have done good business, we can do good business to make sure we are strong in that position.”

It's great news

This update from the Fulham hierarchy that a deal is in place and agreed is great news for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, who wanted to get this deal done on Deadline Day back in January, so it will be a relief to the powers at Anfield that the signing has finally been completed after a long process.

Carvalho caught the attention of the Premier League title challengers earlier this season and for good reason when you consider his effectiveness at just 19 years old in the Championship-winning side.

The Portuguese star has scored ten goals and contributed eight assists in 35 appearances in the league this season, with 13 big chances created and 1.7 key passes on average per game.

However, his impressive statistics are not limited to just offensive play with the youngster winning the majority of his ground duels and making 1.1 per game, proving that he has the potential to become a player with diverse qualities.

It will be interesting to see how Klopp deploys the young talent in his team next season when he finally arrives at Anfield this summer, but with the amount of quality and character he has already shown in his newly-promoted side, there is no doubt he will fit right in on Merseyside.
