Liverpool have been linked with a move for Mohammed Kudus and now a new update has emerged detailing the club's pursuit of the player and their competition in securing his signature.

What's the latest?

According to 90min, the performances of the Ghana international at the World Cup in Qatar have attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.

As per the report, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur have all been credited with an interest in the talented midfielder, while it is said that Liverpool have specifically have been impressed by Kudus in both their meetings with Ajax in the Champions League, as well as his more recent displays on the international stage.

It'd be a major coup

It is no secret that Liverpool are in desperate need of reinforcements in the team following a run of poor performances in the Premier League that has left them sixth in the table after 14 outings.

There has been a lot of upheaval and signs of impending and drastic change at Anfield, with reports revealing that FSG are now willing to sell the club, as well as confirmation that sporting director Julian Ward has decided to resign from his position at the end of the season - which would mark just 12 months since he took over from Michael Edwards.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp will be looking for ways to stabilise the situation at the club and tapping into the January transfer market could be the perfect opportunity to silence the speculation by bringing success on the pitch.

Whilst Liverpool's most immediate priority must be the personnel in the central and defensive midfield roles, it is clearly hard for the Reds to ignore the attacking talents of Kudus.

Over 63 appearances for Ajax, the 22-year-old - who was hailed a "star boy" by teammate Calvin Bassey - has scored 15 goals and registered six assists from his versatile role, predominantly in the attacking midfield position, with a goal contribution every 110 minutes.

Not only that, Kudus has been in fine form whilst competing at the World Cup in Qatar and has been a stand-out performer over his appearances so far.

Over two group stage meetings, the Ghanaian ace has scored two goals and successfully completed 63% of his dribbles, as well as averaging two shots on goal, 1.5 tackles and winning 5.5 duels per game.

With that being said, the signing of Kudus would be a major coup for Liverpool especially if they could secure his services in January to give the team a boost over the second half of the season.
