Liverpool have made just three signings this summer with Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsey and Fabio Carvalho joining the squad at Anfield, however, they could make one more move before the transfer window closes.

What's the latest?

According to journalist José Alberto Molestina, Liverpool are preparing a bid for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Studio Futbol tweeted alongside a clip discussing the player's future:

"Liverpool is preparing an offer. Also: "Moises Caicedo doesn't feel like United today", information from @jamolestina in #DeUnaXSF."

Journalist Juan Jose Palacios further conveyed the news on behalf of Studio Futbol:

“In the program De Una of StudioFútbol, they announced – supported by the information handled by María José Flores – that not only Manchester United is behind the tricolor, but that Liverpool also has it on the agenda in a possible offer valued at more of 50 million.”

It could be bye-bye Keita

The Liverpool midfield has been a hot topic of conversation over the last few weeks, with the Premier League giants suffering numerous injury problems and Naby Keita's future being put into question.

Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed earlier this week that contract talks had stalled with the player, revealing that he is unhappy at the club in an update on Twitter:

As a result, the signing of Caicedo could be the perfect opportunity for Liverpool to move on from Keita who will be out of contract next summer. By moving him on, they must put their efforts into a young and exciting prospect who could become part of the future at Anfield.

The 20-year-old who was hailed as a "special talent" by journalist Ryan Taylor, has been showing glimpses of his ability whilst competing for a spot in Graham Potter's side with eight fantastic performances in the Premier League last season.

Caicedo scored one goal and delivered one assist while making 1.3 interceptions, completing two tackles, and taking 1.9 shots per game, proving that he offers some great attributes in both attacking and defensive play.

Not only that, but the Brighton midfielder ranks within the top 25% of his positional peers in the top five European leagues for tackles, clearances and touches over the last 12 months which is highly impressive considering he has had minimal game time and his young age.

More recently, Caicedo is currently the eight highest rated player in the entire Brighton squad for his three performances so far this season, with his most notable coming from the Seagulls Premier League opener against Manchester United with the side taking a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.

The £42.3m midfielder made three key passes, clearances and interceptions, made four tackles and completed 28 of his 34 passes, further proving that he is clearly capable of positively influencing the team in big games, which could make him a highly valuable asset for Klopp.

The midfielder is seemingly going from strength to strength, amassing some seriously impressive statistics this season too, making 1.7 interceptions and completing a mighty 3.7 tackles a match in 2022/23.

With that being said, the signing of Caicedo would be a big addition for Liverpool and one that could well force Keita through the exit door given him tremendous attributes across the board.
