Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge is surprised Manchester City have not looked to sign Erling Haaland before the transfer window closes next week.

City boss Pep Guardiola has made no secret of the fact he is looking to bolster his attacking options following the summer departure of club legend Sergio Aguero, with the former Barcelona chief publicly confirming he wants to sign wantaway Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

The reigning Premier League champions' interest in Kane comes after another stellar season which saw the England captain pick up the top flight's Golden Boot and Playmaker awards last time out.

But Bridge thinks City should be targeting Haaland, who has scored 62 goals in 63 appearances since joining Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in 2019.

According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Haaland has a buyout clause of £64million which could become active as soon as January. The report suggests City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all keen to sign the 21-year-old.

Bridge is shocked City have not already made their move to ensure they beat their rivals to Haaland's services.

He told Football FanCast: "I am surprised City haven't tried to sign Haaland, if I'm honest. I think £100million might do it."
