Having played most of last season with a 4-2-3-1 formation, it appears that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is contemplating a change of system and going to a 4-3-3, according to The Telegraph, and Carlton Palmer told Football FanCast exclusively that it's an exciting prospect.

The change of formation would ultimately see one of Scott McTominay, Fred or Nemanja Matic sit in front of the back four and see United look to get on the front foot and attack teams.

The Red Devils have an abundance of attacking talent in their ranks, so freeing up an extra player to add to that will surely help United create more chances and score more goals.

One player who is used to playing in the 4-3-3 formation is Paul Pogba. The midfielder was part of France's Euro 2020 squad, getting on the scoresheet once for his national side, and Palmer believes the system benefits Pogba and will be also benefit United.

“I think the 4-3-3 is a system that France use a lot and will get the best out of Pogba.

“I think Man United are going to have a right go at the title next season, they’ve bought in good players and I am excited.”

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led the club to second in the Premier League last season, as well as to the Europa League final where United lost on penalties to Villarreal. With a possible change of system on the horizon, Solskjaer will be hoping that United can go one better this season and put some silverware in the trophy cabinet.
