Manchester United were finally able to confirm the signing of Antony on transfer deadline day, and the Brazilian could form a superb partnership with Casemiro in Erik ten Hag's side.

United confirmed on Thursday that the 22-year-old had joined the club from Ajax on a deal until 2027, with the club holding the option for a further year.

Antony is reunited with Ten Hag, having made 79 appearances under the Dutch manager at Ajax, in which he contributed an impressive 22 goals and 20 assists.

The winger wasn't signed in time for Thursday's game against Leicester City, but could make his debut against Arsenal at the weekend, where Ten Hag could see a superb partnership form with fellow new Brazilian signing Casemiro.

The defensive midfielder joined the club earlier in the transfer window from Real Madrid and will add quality, experience and a supreme winning mentality to United's midfield.

Scott McTominay has already praised the 30-year-old's influence at Old Trafford since his arrival, despite it being likely that the Brazilian will take his place in United's first team.

He said: "To learn from someone like him [Casemiro], who has done pretty much everything in the game, is amazing. His mentality, the way that he is so firm with everything that he does. He's an amazing footballer who can help us so much and be one of our main players."

After staring on the bench against Southampton and Leicester City, Casemiro will likely make his first start in Sunday's clash against Arsenal, and it only seems a matter of time until he and Antony line up together for United.

The idea of Casemiro winning the ball back in midfield and giving the ball to the more creative Antony is one that is sure to get United fans excited, especially if they can maintain their form from previous clubs.

Casemiro, who was dubbed a "monster" by Zinedine Zidane last year, averaged 2.5 tackles per game last season in La Liga, which was more than any United midfielder would average.

Meanwhile, Antony's 4.5 shots and 4.0 dribbles per game with Ajax this season is also more than any United player, suggesting that the pair could form a brutal and devastating combination through the centre of the pitch and out on the flanks.

Therefore, it is clear what the two Brazilians will bring to Ten Hag's squad and their combination of defensive and attacking skills could see them form an amazing partnership at Old Trafford.
