Manchester United have not been involved in making any signings this week, but have remained as relevant as ever in the hot topic of conversations this week in football, as claims of a huge dressing room upset has been speculated at Old Trafford, with up to 17 players said to be wanting to leave the club.

But if rumours are to be believed, Ralf Rangnick could already be well on his way to replacing these players already.

What's the word?

According to Football Insider, sources have said that Manchester United are getting ready to make a 'huge' offer for Antonio Rudiger.

The report suggests that the Chelsea centre-back is on the Premier League giant's radar and planning to offer a highly lucrative offer and a long term contract to the player, if he was interested in joining the side.

Football Insider claim that United will face stiff competition in the chase for the in demand 28-year-old, with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur all said to be interested.

Rudiger's contract ends in the summer with the European Champions, and he has allegedly already turned down several contract offers to extend his stay with the London club, meaning he is free to now discuss his future with potential clubs interested in committing to a pre-contract agreement this January.

Fans will be buzzing

Fans have made no secret about their feelings towards club captain, Harry Maguire, who has been underwhelming in performances for Manchester United over the last few seasons, with many taking to Twitter to offer their criticism on the 28 year old;

One Red Devils fan tweeted;

"Harry Maguire, Manchester United captain, NEEDS to be dropped! Awful performances every week, he isn’t worth half his price tag!"

With that being said, fans will be buzzing with the potential signing of Rudiger who was hailed a "force" by Martin Keown last month, especially when you look at his defensive statistics in the Premier League this season.

According to SofaScore, the £31.5m-rated Chelsea defender has won a large majority of his total duels (63%) and has eight clean sheets from his 20 games played in the league this season.

On top of that, he has been impressive offensively from his position, as he has scored twice so far.

Rangnick will need to move quickly if he is interested in pursuing the defender, with top competition from clubs across Europe, and the move could become less appealing for Rudiger compared to other clubs if the side fails to secure Champions League football next season, as they are currently 7th in the Premier League.
