Football FanCast spoke exclusively to Dean Windass who believes nobody will buy Newcastle United if they are relegated from the Premier League.

The Magpies are currently flirting with relegation sitting just three points and a worse goal difference than Fulham in 18th who are building momentum.

Steve Bruce had spoken about a top-half finish earlier this season, however, those hopes seem like distant memories now as the attempts to avoid Mike Ashley experiencing a third relegation under his ownership of Newcastle.

Both Ashley and Newcastle fans thought they would finally be separated with Amanda Staveley and PIF meeting the Sports Direct tycoon's valuation of the club, only for the Premier League to block the deal.

This has resulted in arbitration between Ashley and the Premier League which is rather secretive and even dates of this beginning and ending unknown to anyone outside the process.

However, this could all be for nothing if Newcastle were to be relegated this season as it could easily wipe off at least £100 million of Newcastle's value as a club and they would instantly become a far less attractive club to purchase in England's second tier.

Dean Windass told Football FanCast what he thought about the potential takeover and what it could mean for Steve Bruce.

"Yeah, who's going to buy Newcastle if they're in the Championship?", Windass explained when talking about whether or not the takeover depends on the Magpies maintaining their top-flight status.

He added: "Newcastle could go as they did a few years ago and end up in Division Two (League One now). The supporters will never change, the supporters will be there week in week out, home and away no matter if Mike Ashley is in charge or not.

"If Newcastle stay in the Premier League will Steve Bruce still be the manager next season? No. Mike Ashley will sell his shares to somebody who wants to buy Newcastle to take them forward.

"Hopefully Bruce doesn't see this because he's a good friend, but I think his days are numbered."
