Newcastle: Real willing to sanction Hazard deal

An update has emerged on Newcastle United’s pursuit of Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard.

What’s the talk?

According to Spanish outlet Sport, the La Liga giants are willing to sanction his exit if he wants to make the move back to the Premier League.

The report claims that the Magpies have the requisite funds to complete a deal and could now make a swoop for him in the January window.

Should Newcastle sign Hazard?

Get it done

Eddie Howe is reportedly close to becoming the new manager of Newcastle and he must ensure that Hazard becomes his first signing on Tyneside in the January window. The Belgian international could be a sensational first foray into the market as Magpies boss for the ex-Bournemouth head coach and he must plead with PIF to get it done.

Hazard has endured a rough time of it in Spain with Madrid but has previously proven his quality in the Premier League with Chelsea. Toon legend Alan Shearer once claimed that the Belgian had the potential to become the best player in world football. He said:

“He (Hazard) has been the Premier League’s outstanding player over the whole campaign, and he deserves the individual recognition. That is how I felt in 1995 when I won the title with Blackburn Rovers and was also Player of the Year for the first time.

Who scored more goals for Newcastle? An easy one to start...

“The bad news for Chelsea’s rivals is that at 24, Hazard is only going to get better. In three or four years, I think we could be talking about the Belgian being the best player in the world – he has the potential to be that good.”

He is not the best in the world right now, given that he has never won the Ballon d’Or, but the fact that Shearer believed that he could highlight his ability as a player.

His statistics for Chelsea in the Premier League suggest that he could be an excellent signing for Howe. In his last three Premier League seasons, the gem scored 44 goals and provided 24 assists – showing that he has the quality to score and assist on a regular basis at this level.

Hazard has only scored four league goals since signing for Real Madrid in 2019, but Howe could look to get him back to his best with a change of scenery and the potential of him being the main man at St. James Park. It is now down to PIF and Howe to make sure that they can get a deal over the line for the Belgian.
