Newcastle United have made contact with Paulo Dybala regarding a move to St. James' Park in the summer transfer window.

What's the talk?

Transfer Focus

That's according to a claim made by James Olley, with the ESPN journalist revealing in a post on Twitter that Eddie Howe's side have contacted the 28-year-old's representatives regarding a move to the Premier League side on a free transfer at the end of the season.

However, Olley goes on to state that the Magpies are not alone in their interest in the Juventus forward, with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United - as well as several unnamed Italian and Spanish sides - also said to have been in contact with the Argentina international's agents.

In his tweet, the journalist said: "Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Utd & Newcastle have made contact with Paulo Dybala’s representatives over a summer move. Nothing at an advanced stage, just exploring the idea - player assessing his options (also interest from clubs in Italy and Spain)."

Huge coup for PIF

Considering just how impressive a player Dybala quite clearly is, in addition to the sheer number of top-level clubs being linked with a move for the forward, it is clear to see that PIF securing a deal for the Argentine this summer would be something of a huge coup for the club.

Indeed, over his 25 Serie A appearances this term, the £36m-rated talent has been in sensational form for Juventus, bagging nine goals, providing five assists and creating 10 big chances for his team-mates, as well as taking an average of 3.7 shots and making 1.4 key passes per game.

These returns have seen the £220k-per-week attacker average a quite remarkable SofaScore match rating of 7.48, not only ranking him as Massimiliano Allegri's best player in the Italian top flight but also as the third-best in the league as a whole.

As such, should Dybala be able to continue this level of performance following a summer switch to Newcastle, the argument that the 28-year-old would be a fantastic addition to Howe's current attacking options is an extremely easy one to make.

However, with the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and United also believed to be pursuing a deal for the Juventus playmaker, PIF certainly face a tough battle if they are to seal a deal for Dybala ahead of 2022/23.
