Leyton Orient's James Dayton has issued a statement on Twitter in response to his sending off at the weekend and has been greeted with solidarity by fans of the club.

Dayton dislocated his ankle in Orient's 2-1 win over Sutton United at the weekend.

After sustaining the serious injury and being treated by physios, the 30-year-old threw his boot in frustration.

The referee subsequently punished Dayton for dissent, having allegedly thrown his boot at the official.

The red card, amazingly, was issued as he was stretchered off.
