Nottingham Forest have just sealed their fifth signing of the summer with Omar Richards confirmed today, and the club don't seem to be slowing down as they are now onto their next potential transfer target.

What's the latest?

According to sports editor and transfer insider Rudy Galetti, Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Armando Broja this summer.

Galetti tweeted:

"Newcastle have shown interest in Armando #Broja.

"As reported, there are many clubs on the striker: in #EPL, #WHUFC and #NFFC are following the player too."

Keinan Davis replacement

It is clear that Steve Cooper is keen to build a squad that can compete as best they can in the Premier League next season, and signing players with experience in the top flight could be massively advantageous for Forest when they return to action next month.

Broja has become a hot prospect this summer with Everton, West Ham and Southampton keen on signing the young Chelsea striker this summer, but if he did make the move to The City Ground he could be the perfect replacement for Keinan Davis.

The £58m star who was hailed "devastating" by Albania's assistant manager Sergio Porrini, has been impressing whilst out on loan with Southampton, tallying up nine goals and one assist making him the second-highest scoring player for the Saints last season.

But it's not just his goal contributions that have seen the striker capture the attention of so many potential suitors this summer, Broja ranked third in the entirety of the top five European leagues for aerial duels performed in the opponents half, proving that the 6 foot 2 striker is a complete nightmare for those that come up against him.

Forest have already made the signing of Taiwo Awoniyi but there is no doubt that Cooper will be wanting to acquire a forward who knows what it takes to compete in the Premier League and can offer the experience of playing in the top flight to give the newly-promoted side their best chance of staying up.

With that being said, the signing of Broja would be a major coup for Nottingham Forest this summer but they will need to compete with teams who have a much more established presence in the top tier, so it may prove a difficult challenge to secure a deal for the player.
