Nottingham Forest plot move for Glen Kamara

Nottingham Forest are on the cusp of completing their 12th signing with Orel Mangala set to join the team at The City Ground, and now a new potential transfer target has been identified.

What’s the latest?

According to 90min, Forest have made contact with Rangers regarding a deal midfielder Glen Kamara this summer.

As per the report, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, AFC Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion and Salernitana all join the Reds in the interest of signing the Finnish player.

Imagine him & Mangala

Steve Cooper will be delighted with the transfer window so far with 11 new signings already secured ahead of their long-awaited return to the Premier League next week, and Kamara could be a great coup to strengthen Forest’s midfield options going forward.

The 26-year-old has been a reliable and consistent presence for Rangers, and last season continued to prove his ability to pose both an attacking threat and solid defensive skills in the centre of the pitch.

Over 31 league appearances, Kamara scored three goals and delivered three assists, as well as made an average of 1.3 key passes and one tackle per game whilst racking up a 91% pass completion rate, in addition to winning the majority of his duels (54%) and successfully completing the vast majority of his dribbles (70%).

Stan Collymore - Nottingham Forest

Who did Forest sign Stan Collymore from in 1993?

The midfielder who comes with a reported £10m price tag has been lavished with praise for his contributions to his team, with former Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, hailing Kamara “superb” in an interview with Sky Sports.

Cooper was reportedly keen to add another midfielder into his team following the exit of loanee James Garner who has returned to Manchester United, and Belgian star Orel Mangala is claimed to be about to complete his move to The City Ground imminently.

The Forest boss could form a fantastic midfield partnership between Mangala and Kamara if the club can secure a deal for the latter, as the pair offer similarities in terms of versatility in the centre of the pitch, something that combined will be a valuable asset to the Reds this season.

Should Nottingham Forest sign Glen Kamara?

With that being said, the signing of Kamara would be a great piece of business for Forest but with tough competition for his signature, Forest will need to step up their pursuit or risk losing out.
