Nottingham Forest are on course to sign their 12th player of the summer transfer window, and now a new update about the progress of the player's completion on his move to The City Ground has been revealed.

What's the latest?

According to journalist Sascha Tavolieri, Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Orel Mangala, and he will be putting pen to paper on his contract today.

Tavolieri tweeted on Friday evening: "Orel Mangala just arrived in London at the moment. Confirmed. The new Nottingham Forest midfielder will sign his contract during the morning and proceed after that to his first training with his new teammates."

Supporters will be buzzing

There is no doubt that Forest supporters will be buzzing with another signing to strengthen their midfield this summer ahead of their long-awaited return to Premier League action next week.

The versatile VfB Stuttgart midfielder who was hailed a "real talent" by Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has played defensive and central midfield in almost equal measure and has been a solid force for the Bundesliga side last season.

Over 28 league appearances, Mangala scored one goal, delivered three assists and created four big chances, as well as making an average of one key pass and winning 3.5 duels per game, in addition to successfully completing the majority of his dribbles (59%) and racking up a pass completion rate of 93% in his own half.

The Belgian midfielder also hit the target with 53% of his shots and made 35 pass interceptions in the opponent's half, proving that he really is an all-rounder that could be an excellent replacement for James Garner over the season ahead.

Steve Cooper will be relieved to have a midfielder secured ahead of the campaign in the top flight, especially after failing to secure another deal for Garner who returned to Manchester United following an unforgettable and influential season-long loan at Forest last season, and a replacement was desperately needed.

With that being said, the signing of Mangala will be warmly welcomed at The City Ground and it puts the Reds in a great position to put out a team that can compete in the Premier League this season.
