Nottingham Forest are interested in a deal that would bring Ryan Longman to The City Ground this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by Football Insider, who claim that Chris Hughton's side, along with a number of other Championship clubs, are keeping a very close eye on the Brighton & Hove Albion winger ahead of a potential move in the summer transfer window.

It is reported that the 20-year-old is yet to agree a new deal with the Premier League side and they could be prepared to cash in on the youngster this summer as he is entering the final year of his contract at the Amex Stadium.

Imagine him & Johnson

Considering just how impressive Longman was while on loan at AFC Wimbledon last season, it is not difficult to see why Hughton is interested in a move for the forward this summer.

Indeed, over his 44 League One appearances for Mark Robinson's side last term, the 20-year-old scored eight goals, registered two assists and created three big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of two shots and making one key pass per game.

These returns saw the winger earn an impressive seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.85, ranking him as the Dons' sixth-best performer in the third tier of English football.

Furthermore, Longman also put in a number of solid displays in the EFL Trophy, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the competition, taking his total haul for the 2020/21 campaign to nine goals and five assists.

And, with Hughton looking likely to welcome Brennan Johnson back to the Forest fold this summer, a player who also highly impressed in League One last season, the addition of Longman would very much appear to provide the Garibaldi with yet another talented prospect for the future of the club.

As such, it would seem highly advisable for Hughton to do all he can to get a deal for the man whom Glyn Hodges dubbed a "threat" over the line as quickly as possible this summer, or else the 62-year-old could well miss out on the youngster to one of Forest's Championship rivals.
