Nottingham Forest hoping to snatch unwanted Said Benrahma

Nottingham Forest are set to raid a Premier League rival for some added talent…

What’s the word?

According to The Telegraph, the Garibaldi are showing an interest in West Ham United winger Said Benrahma.

It was revealed that the Hammers were willing to listen to offers for the Algerian, as they aimed to further bolster their options in attacking midfield.

Forest have reportedly been interested in Benrahma ever since their promotion back to the Premier League.

A sensational signing?

David Moyes appears to have made the bewildering decision to bin off the club’s third top scorer from last season in an attempt to upgrade his attacking options.

Forest could now benefit from this decision, adding an exciting talent with two years of Premier League experience under his belt, who is only improving with each passing season.

Scoring eight last season and providing a further six, the silky Algerian did take time to acclimatise to the Premier League after his big-money £20m move from Brentford.

Now that he has, Steve Cooper could unearth himself a sensational attacking option who could be integral to their survival bid and easing the offensive burden held by Jesse Lingard.

Dubbed “sensational” by BBC broadcaster John Bennett, it is also likely that with the Hammers willing to sell, they would be more likely to accept a fee that could be seen as a huge coup in today’s market.

He is a constant goal threat and averaged 2.83 shots and 1.0 key passes per game. To create or to go himself, the £58k-per-week winger is a mesmerising talent who in the words of Sam Saunders, a Brentford B coach, he “could nutmeg a mermaid.”

Stan Collymore - Nottingham Forest

Who did Forest sign Stan Collymore from in 1993?

A splash of flair, creativity and most importantly, Premier League experience, could make this wily character a fine addition fo Cooper’s ranks, particularly after failing to score in their opening fixture versus Newcastle.

Although throughout his second spell at the London Stadium he has rarely put a foot wrong, this decision by Moyes to allow a wonderful creative outlet to leave is a confusing one from the outside.

Cooper however will not care, and must swoop to secure what would be a sensational acquisition for Forest that could certainly win them a whole host of points this season.
