Luis Enrique's astonishingly good Barcelona team finally broke down the stubborn Arsenal resistance in the 71st minutes at the Emirates as Lionel Messi scored what must be the millionth goal of his career.

As the Gunners performed brilliantly before the goal, Barcelona's extra quality showed in one rapid counter attack as the Catalan club moved from one box to the other in 16 seconds. Arsenal's response to this... bring on Danny Welbeck.

Neymar put it on a plate for the world's best and the Argentine magician finally ended his Petr Cech curse to give Barca an all important away goal.

Arsenal's tactics, up until this point, had been faultless, and, if anything, they had the better chances. Unfortunately, you can't switch off against Barca and the Gunners cannot afford to go to the Camp Nou a goal behind in the tie.

Maybe the stat would have been better put that Messi has never scored against Chelsea..?

Piers Morgan can make a plank of himself, so we will just leave these here.

Arsenal are now up against it, as their beloved last 16 knock out blow arrives once more.

At least we won't have any more intolerable Petr Cech/Lionel Messi jokes.
