Arsenal reluctant to meet £35million price tag for EURO 2016 star

Arsenal are interested in signing Newcastle attacker Moussa Sissoko, reports talkSPORT.

After a strong performance at EURO 2016, the Magpies have slapped a £35million price tag on the Frenchman, with Liverpool and Tottenham also reported to be interested.

And it seems that valuation from Newcastle is putting off Arsene Wenger, with the French manager not interested in spending so much for the Championship player.

The Gunners are considering a £20million offer for Sissoko, who scored just one goal in the Premier League last year, as Newcastle were relegated from the top flight.

Sissoko was substituted in the EURO 2016 final as soon as Eder scored for Portugal.

Rafa Benitez is keen for Sissoko to stay at the club, and with a number of teams reportedly interested in the 26-year-old, Newcastle could be keen to see a bidding war start.

Both Arsenal and Spurs can offer Sissoko Champions League football, but the Gunners seem reluctant to make any move for Sissoko that would be near Newcastle’s demands.
