No change at the top of the Premier League table as both Manchester United and Arsenal extended their leads. Manchester City have lost ground though, as Darren Bent’s debut goal ensured a welcome win for Aston Villa that dragged them away from the bottom three.

In the papers this morning there have been a mixed bag of stories that includes Man United denying a £1.5bn approach from Qatar; Gerard Houllier caught in racism storm, while Lord Coe insists West Ham must win Olympic Stadium bid.
