Last Sunday saw a cracking Premier League match between Bolton Wanderers and Birmingham City, which eventually ended all square but not before the Trotters and the Blues had gone toe-to-toe for 90 minutes. The Reebok Stadium was the scene for this enthralling encounter, which saw Johnson and Gardner put Birmingham 2-0 ahead, before a 10 man Bolton fought back to earn a point, continuing both teams’ unbeaten record in the Premier League so far this season. The talking point of the match was undoubtedly Bolton’s rock in between the sticks Jussi Jaaskelainen needlessly lashing out at Birmingham’s Roger Johnson. Referee Kevin Friend had no option but to show the Finnish goalkeeper a straight red, and Bolton’s manager Owen Coyle would have been left speechless, but what prompted Jussi’s slap?
