Arsenal’s William Gallas, Chelsea’s Nicolas Anelka and former Gunner, current Barcelona forward and possible West Ham target (if rumours are to be believed) Thierry Henry clearly enjoying training. Danny Baker charts the fortunes of one season in the the East London Sunday League Division 4 and its sister competition, the Dick Coppock Cup, in The Game, a cult TV series first aired more than 20 years ago on ITV. Now, some two decades later, those exploits are being made available on DVD for the first time ever in The Game, released by Revelation Films on May 24th 2010. Late tackles and skied clearances, mud and guts, own goals and gaffs, punch ups and even the odd moment of skill… This is real football, warts ‘n’ all. ‘Ave it!
