Change in the offing as punters desert Chelsea

Chelsea manager Carlo AncelottiThings aren’t looking great for Chelsea right now. The Blues exited the FA Cup at the hands of Everton at Stamford Bridge at the 4th round stage after losing yet another penalty shootout. Chelsea also currently lie 5th in the Premier League table, outside of the qualification spots for the Champions League and a huge 12 points behind Manchester United in the race for the title. So it looks like the Blues’ only realistic chance for silverware this season will come in the form of the Champions League, but it seems like punters aren’t that confident in Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Punters are deserting Chelsea for their trip to Copenhagen on Tuesday. “Some saw this draw as a gimme when it was made back in December, but we currently have more money on Copenhagen than we do on Chelsea as Ancelotti’s side continue to drift from an opening price of 1/2” said bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth.

Carlo Ancelotti is also fancied for a summer departure and bet365 aren’t expecting the Italian to be at Stamford Bridge next season. Freeth added “We can certainly see Ancelotti riding out the storm this season and we’re 8/13 that he does just that, but we’re 8/15 that he’s saying arrivederci before the start of 2011/12.”

Do you fancy Chelsea to make it past Copenhagen to progress to the Champions League quarter finals?
