It has been reported that Chelsea have excluded Radamel Falcao from their Champions League squad for the resumption of Europe’s premier club competition this season.
Alexandre Pato, who only signed last month, was brought into Guus Hiddink’s Chelsea squad, but Falcao, who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge was left out.
Falcao has suffered with injuries for the last few seasons and he has hardly featured for the Blues in this campaign. Fortunately, other transfer markets are still open if Falcao is looking to make his move away from his horrific spell at Stamford Bridge.
The Colombian has, in many ways, had an even worse time in West London than Fernando Torres as he sits firmly down the pecking order behind Loic Remy, Diego Costa and, now, Alexandre Pato. It is never nice to see someone’s career fizzle out in such a way, but we can be sure that the ex-Porto forward is having his disappointment nicely cushioned by a big wage packet.
