Chelsea, Tottenham… FIVE samba stars set for the Premier League next season

The Premier League has seen an influx of Brazilian stars coming to ply their trade in what is most commonly known as ‘the greatest league in the world.’

The likes of Oscar, David Luiz, Paulinho, Coutinho and Fernandinho have made a positive impact upon our shores in recent seasons, but who should we expect to see next?

With the transfer window now well into its stride and loads of players being linked with clubs left, right and centre, there’s bound to be at least one Brazilian coming to join the other 13 samba stars currently in the top-flight.

So with that in mind, here’s a look at FIVE Brazilians who could be gracing the Premier League next season…

Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

The Atletico striker has been essential to their bid for the La Liga title this season, scoring 27 league goals in 34 games.

As a club that has so famously seen their brightest stars, such as Fernando Torres and Radamel Falcao, sold for tens of millions after one or two good seasons, it’s widely expected that Costa will be the latest to be tempted away for a fee that Los Rojiblancos just cannot turn down.

Chelsea is the most likely destination for 25-year-old powerhouse, with a £50million deal rumoured to have already been agreed.

Leandro Damiao (Santos)

The 24-year-old striker spent years flirting with Spurs but a move never materialised, with the Brazilian eventually switching from Internacional to Santos just before Christmas.

But that doesn’t mean to say Spurs, or any other top side in the Premier League, won’t return for him.

Valued at around £14million, it could take as much as double that to finally tempt him to England.

Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg)

Despite only joining Wolfsburg last summer, there won’t be shortage of interest in the defensive midfielder once the transfer window opens.

With the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal all in the market for a holding midfielder, Gustavo could be the perfect candidate, although whoever wants him may have to fork out around £25million for his services.

Hernanes (Inter Milan)

The 28-year-old midfielder has been ever present for Inter Milan this season but, with the club having to settle for Europa League football next season, he may be tempted to move to a club competing in the Champions League.

And there won’t be a shortage of offers for him, with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all likely to be interested and willing to pay the £25-30million fee Inter are likely to listen to.

Hulk (Zenit St. Petersburg)

Most would say a striker of Hulk’s pedigree is wasted playing in Russia, which is why it can’t be long before he arrives back in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

And the Premier League is a likely destination, with Tottenham and Chelsea both being linked with him in the past.

He’s valued at £42million, but he could be tempted away for less.

However, the 27-year-old’s record of 20 goals and 13 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions this season suggests he’d probably be worth every single penny.
