Has the boys Christmas cheer been dampened as Chelsea take the penalty, again and again to salvage a point against a battling West Ham up for the London Derby?
On the Chelsea FanCast Christmas special, whilst all around them panic at only one win in six games, the FanCast team look at the 1-1 draw against the ‘Appy ‘Ammers as a hard and well earned point which extends our lead at the top of the table to four points. Obviously that’s what too much Christmas Cheer can do to you!!
Clearly Referee Mike Dean had also been over indulging in the Christmas Spirit – the 98% proof stuff – in missing obvious penalties, giving soft ones and then making Super Frank take one pen three times. Super Frank takes the plaudits for keeping his nerve under these circumstances in a more Frank like performance. No surprise to see him feature in the Man of the Match, Guinness and Celery moments – although there’s a nod to Brana Ivanovic’s reaction to Diamanti’s theatrics. More like Tantrums and Diamanti Tiara’s…
Our very own Stu gets the chant of the match award – although we have to take his word for it – but he did text us the minute he started it. All together now: 3-1, 3-1, 3-1, 3-1, 3-1…..
Looking back at the midweek game against Portsmouth, the boys muse on the result being more important than the performance, which was about as sunny as Avram Grant’s features whilst receiving a luke warm reception on an otherwise cold and dank night. Monsieur Platini ‘fixes’ us up with a tie against Inter Milan in the Champions League and the return of Jose Mourinho. The boys ponder whether it will be like the return of Christmas past with Jose cast as Scrooge. At least we won’t be wearing our jinxed black and blue away kit for that one!!
In a special festive edition of “We’re out to show the world the way to Sing” we have four Chelsea classics all based on Christmas Carols. Dear Mart has some breaking news on the question posed a few weeks ago about Chelsea players, who fought in the war, as well as answers to questions on ChelTel v Norman C, the return of Jose Mourinho, and the forthcoming 100th edition of the Chelsea FanCast!
Last but by no means least Chidge has a look at the posts on the Facebook group in “You’re on CFFC” and announces a new slot for ChelTel on the show talking about Chelsea Gossip and Rumour, and also looks forward to some items in our very special 100th Chelsea FanCast next time round!
