Despite Spurs being keen to recoup as much as they can of the £15million outlay they spent on recruiting Bentley from the Lancashire club the Mail Online is reporting that the would be willing to send the midfielder out on loan to Blackburn for a £1million fee.

For his part Sam Allardyce is keen to add a player of Bentley’s quality to his squad in a bid to restart his career, which has somewhat stalled since his arrival in the white side of North London.

Having failed to secure a first team place at White Hart Lane in his two year spell, being constantly behind Aaron Lennon in the pecking order Bentley could look to return to the club where he made such an impact.

Parallels could be drawn with his time at Arsenal, being sent out on loan to Blackburn. Only this time his parent club would be their bitter rivals.
