Linked with a move to either Arsenal or Liverpool in the January transfer window, I take a look at the talents of Balazs Dzsudzsak – a Hungarian midfielder who plays for PSV Eindhoven in Holland. Is he what Liverpool need? First off, despite the interest from England, Dzsudzsak has also stated his desire to play in Spain’s La Liga:

“I’d definitely be interested in leaving PSV for a club in Spain, I wouldn’t turn down an offer from Valencia or Atletico Madrid in case they are willing to match my minimum fee release clause.”

According to most who know the player, Dzsudzsak (terrible spelling of a name!) is the best young talent to come out of Hungary in a very long time. Zoltan Gera is the one name English football fans will recognise from Hungary but Dzsudzsak is expected to go much further in the game than the Fulham man has.

Dzsudzsak was brought to PSV in 2007 at the age of 19 and has impressed as a left-winger. Many see the Hungarian as old-style wideman with his pace, ability to beat a man and crossing his key attributes. That’s not to say the 24-year-old is goal shy, in fact quite the opposite, Dzsudzsak has netted 38 goals in 100 appearances for PSV, including 10 in 19 this season – many of which were impressive strikes from distance.

Proving that he is a real all-rounder, Dzsudzsak was the leading assist maker in last season’s Dutch division with 15 setups in 32 games. However, in spite of his many plus points, Dzsudzsak has been known to have quite an agressive streak which has got him into trouble on a number of occasions – including a red card from England’s Mike Dean in last season’s Europa League for pushing an official.

But what is most likely to draw the attention of English clubs is the rumoured €10m release cause in Dzsudzsak’s PSV contract. With Liverpool crying out for a left-sided player since the demise of Albert Riera (to be fair Maxi Rodriguez has filled in well), Dzsudzsak could be just the right sort of player they are looking for, and one The Kop would enjoy watching. Here he is in action:
