Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 33: Forecasting Bad Fixtures

Hello internet! Welcome back to another edition of Fantasy Premier League: Forecasting Bad Fixtures, in which we look at which teams we should aim to avoid drafting players from in light of the upcoming schedule.

We have already highlighted which clubs you SHOULD be considering to buy from, so if you want to read that click here.

But as important as making a calculated risk on who you should sign, it is almost as essential to know which players are best to avoid, especially with several double gameweeks propping up in the final seven games of the season.

The big clubs seem to have a fairly decent run of games, but you can’t always fill your team with the best players due to your limited budget. And although you may be tempted to buy a cheaper player in order to save some cash for the likes of Alexis Sanchez or Sergio Aguero, it’s good to know which of them you should be avoiding.

Here are THREE CLUBS you should avoid buying FPL players from ahead of Gameweek 33.

Stoke City

Stoke dejected

Stoke City have been on fairly good form, only losing one of their last seven games and winning four of them. It should have been another three points last weekend as well, but the Potters defence somehow threw away a two-goal lead at the Britiannia against Swansea City.

However, it is now time to ditch the likes of Marko Arnautovic (6.6) and any of their players, with Mark Hughes’ men having no double gameweeks and facing Liverpool (Away), Tottenham (Home), and Manchester City (Away) in their next three matches.

Swansea City

Swansea dejected

Swansea City served up a reminder of their fighting spirit last weekend against Stoke City, battling from two goals down to level the game at 2-2 in an epic encounter.

However, it looks as if the Swans will hobble to safety in their final games of the campaign, with Francesco Guidolin’s men facing a horrible fixtures list with Chelsea (Home), Newcastle United (Away), Leicester City (Away), Liverpool (Home), West Ham United (Away), and Manchester City (Home) in their last six games of the campaign.

The Welsh club also have no double gameweeks on the horizon, making the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson (7.3) and Ashley Williams (5.0) set to be sold by the masses.

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom dejected

West Bromwich Albion are the final team you should avoid buying from ahead of Gameweek 33, despite the Baggies having two games in gameweek 34.

Tony Pullis’ men are on poor scoring form, having found the net only once in their last three fixtures. And while they have kept two clean sheets, West Brom have a rather tough fixtures list coming up ahead, with Manchester City (Away), Watford (Home), Arsenal (Away), and Tottenham (Away) in their next four.

But being such a stubborn side to beat, the likes of Jonny Evans (4.5) and James Chester (4.5) could be purchased for the double as fillers, with the hope that Pullis orchestrates another clean sheet against Watford during the first game of the DGW. However, in light of better options, it’s best to avoid the Midlands club.
