Welcome back to another edition of Fantasy Premier League captain choices, in which we look at the players that could give us a considerable return of double points if handed the coveted armband.

But before we dwelve into our options, let’s take a look at last’s week’s choices and see who performed and who flopped.

1. Sergio Aguero (12)

2. Romelu Lukaku (2)

3. Jamie Vardy (7)

4. Wayne Rooney (2)

5. Harry Kane (5)

Once again, Sergio Aguero delivered and those that kept the captain armband on him following his previous 16-point haul have been rewarded. But those that jumped on Rooney’s form will be livid, with the England international accumulating only two points at home to Southampton.

Vardy and Kane both gave owners a bit of joy with each grabbing a goal, while those with Lukaku will hope last week’s result against Swansea was just a small blip in an otherwise decent campaign.

Without further ado, here are the Fantasy Premier League Captain Choices ahead of Gameweek 24!

Sergio Aguero

Aguero 1

If Sergio Aguero (13.5) keeps himself fit, the Argentine will be a consideration for captain every time he plays for much of the season.

The last four games have seen Aguero score five goals and provide one assist, accumulating 39 points for those that transferred him in before Gameweek 20, with his last two fixtures both giving double-digit returns.

And with Manchester City travelling to face relegation battlers Sunderland, not many will bet against the former Atletico Madrid star adding to his 12 goals this term.

Romelu Lukaku

LukakuCenter

Romelu Lukaku (9.1) disappointed many last weekend by not only blanking against Swansea City at home, but the Belgium international had a plethora of chances he was unable convert.

However, with Newcastle United rolling up next at Goodison Park, Lukaku has the opportunity to redeem himself against a defence that has shipped in six goals in their last three games.

We know that the former Chelsea striker has the ability, and on his day he can be unstoppable already serving five gameweeks with double-digits scores this season.

Dimitri Payet

PayetFantasy

One of the stand-out performers of the season, Dimitri Payet (8.2) could have an absolute field day when West Ham United host rock bottom Aston Villa at the Boleyn Ground this Tuesday.

Villa may be on a good run of three games without defeat, but the Hammers have been undefeated in their last nine clashes at home and will see this as the perfect opportunity to leapfrog an off-colour Manchester United into fifth.

And Payet is expected to play a big role if they're to win, as he has been at the centre of the Hammers decent campaign.

You could also consider Enner Valencia (5.8) if you have him, with the Ecuadorian scoring four goals in his last three matches.

Diego Costa

Diego Costa 8

Yes Diego Costa (10.6) is once again becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Fantasy Premier League world, having scored five goals and providing two assists in the last five games.

His fitness is a slight worry but reports have come out to reveal that the Spain international is set to be available, which will not be music to Watford’s ears.

The Hornets have conceded 10 goals in their last six games, and with the Blues undefeated since the arrival of Guus Hiddink as manager, Costa will be the man the Premier League champions will look to for goals.

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez1

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez (10.8) has suddenly become an appealing captain choice for this Gameweek, with the explosive midfielder returning to full fitness ahead of their clash against Southampton.

Sanchez came on for 34 minutes against Chelsea in the previous fixture and looked dangerous throughout, and the Chilean will be itching to regain his brilliant form prior to an injury.

What makes giving him the armband interesting is the fact that Sanchez can be seen as a differential, and a good day for the former Barcelona star could really push your team up the table. Sanchez is also a rather good replacement for injured Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne (10.5).
