FIVE reasons to love Brazil…

1) Gisele Bündchen

Arguably Brazil’s most famous export, with the supermodel’s number of campaigns – including a record-breaking deal with Victoria’s Secret – making her the highest earning model on the planet.

With the nation currently hammering president Dilma Rousseff’s spending of public money, it’s been reported in the press that Gisele will present the World Cup to the winners in Brazil.

2) Pele

What can you say? The world’s greatest footballer.

Three World Cups, over 1200 career goals and a global advocate for the Beautiful Game, Pele was also awarded the International Peace Award for his work with UNICEF. What a guy.

3) Sergio Mendes

The genius that brought us “Mas Que Nada” – the song that has become synonymous with football flair the world over.

Producer, composer, keyboardist and vocalist Mendes has recorded more than 35 albums, many of which went gold or platinum and he’s a three-time Grammy® Award winner.

4) Marta

Brazilian football isn’t just about the men. In fact, Marta has outgunned her counterparts – winning FIFA World Player of the Year a record five times in a row from 2006-10.

The goalscoring machine was named one on six Ambassadors of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, alongside Amarildo, Bebeto, Carlos Alberto Torres, Ronaldo and Mario Zagallo.

5) Adriana Lima

Another Brazilian supermodel who’s achieved global recognition through her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

Lima has been part of a massive marketing campaign to bring the 2014 World Cup to a US audience, proving that she’s not too bad on the ball in the process…
