Tottenham fans will be leaving White Hart Lane today with mixed emotions after securing a draw in an enthralling Premiership match against Chelsea. In a match that no-one wanted to come to an end, Spurs were rewarded with a single point for their efforts, but it could have been so much different.
Michael Dawson returned to the heart of the Tottenham defence and contributed to a solid first half for Spurs, with Roman Pavlyuchenko firing Tottenham into a 1-0 lead. However, Chelsea came back into the match and the introduction of Didier Drogba changed things. Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes was at fault for Drogba’s equaliser and then things went from bad to worse for the ‘keeper as he brought down Ramires and gave Chelsea a chance to win all three points in the dying minutes. Gomes, though, went from villain to hero and saved Drogba’s penalty as a pulsating encounter at White Hart Lane ended all square.
