Today sees the second Euro 2012 semi-final take place as Germany and Italy do battle at the National Stadium in Warsaw, which will be covered in our live blog right here on FootballFanCast.com

Germany have been installed as favourites for the whole tournament, not just today’s match, as Joachim Low’s side have won four from four thus far. Wins against Portugal, The Netherlands and Denmark saw them finish top of Group B, while they demolished Greece 4-2 in the quarter-finals despite resting their attacking trio of Thomas Muller, Lukas Podolski and Mario Gomez.

Italy have made themselves difficult to beat and after having secured a creditable opening draw against pre-tournament favourites Spain, a draw against Croatia and a win against The Republic of Ireland was enough for the Azzurri to finish second in Group C. Italy then beat England on penalties after the match finished 0-0 after extra time to book their place in the semis.
