Manchester City’s record signing Robinho earned praise from manager Mark Hughes after scoring for the third game in a row as the Citizens saw off Blackburn Rovers 3-1.
The £32.5million signing took his tally to 15 for the season, having started to hit top form in recent weeks after a tough spell since the turn of the year.
Hughes commented:“Robinho is an easy target. He is a high-profile player with a large price tag that people will highlight.
“He has been disappointing on occasion this season, he will admit that himself. But he is not the only one in that position.
“He is an outstanding talent and we are delighted he is here and, if we can bring in more players of a similar standard, that will enable us to grow as a club.”
