Italians ready ‘major’ January offer for Liverpool flop

Napoli are ready to make a ‘major’ January offer for Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli, according to reports from The Metro.

The 24-year-old striker only joined the Reds at the back end of the summer transfer window, but his spell on Merseyside has been so poor so far that a move away in 2015 is already being mooted.

A late equaliser in the Capital One Cup clash with Swansea during the week was only Balotelli’s second goal for his new side, with the other having come in European action against Bulgarian minnows Ludogorets Razgrad.

Brendan Rodgers has confessed that ‘Super Mario’ is a “risk” and hinted that his best performance level may not be enough to guarantee him a future at Anfield, suggesting that he may be axed.

Napoli have distanced themselves from a move for ‘Balo’ recently, but now reports suggest that the Naples side are actually ready to make a significant offer for the player.

Rafael Benitez is desperate to get his team firing after a difficult few months and believes that Balotelli could form a lethal partnership with Gonzalo Higuain.
