Football FanCast's Freddie Myers mulls over the latest
transfer rumours and rumblings.
Liverpool boss Rafa
Benitez is keen to add some striking reinforcements to his squad in the summer
and has joined Blackburn Rovers in the race for Demba Ba.
The Hoffenheim star,
who has been in sensational form this season has attracted plenty of interest
and his stock is rising week on week, as the German side continue to shock all
with their push for a Champions League spot. The Senegalese star is content
with life at Hoffenheim; however the player's representative Alexandre Gontran
feels that should they fail to qualify for the CL they would be likely to cash
in on the 23yr old Senegalese star, and there will be no shortage of takers.
Gontran told Foot Mercato: "Stuttgart first contacted me in January. I think that they have also
contacted the club.
"But other clubs are keen on him, including
Liverpool, who have confirmed their interest in Ba regarding next season, and
Blackburn as well.
"Demba feels good at Hoffenheim and if the team
keep on playing well and manage to qualify for a European cup, I don't see any
reason why he would go.
"If the opposite situation occurs, keeping their
players will be very difficult for Hoffenheim. We have been speaking about a
contract extension since November."
Is Ba someone that will appeal to Liverpool
fans, or would you rather that Rafa focused his attentions elsewhere?
