In case Arsenal fans did not already have enough to grumble about Nicklas Bendtner’s provided even more bad news for the Gunners.
The 25-year-old forward, who is currently on loan with Juventus, has further tarnished his notorious reputation. After his recent drunk driving arrest, Bendtner has been suspended from Danish football for six months. In addition to the ban, he will have his license revoked for three years and pay approximately £97,200 in fines.
Unfortunately, it gets even worse. A ‘set’ which contains a miniature Bendtner figure, a toy car and a bottle of beer fridge magnet is now flying off the shelves in Copenhagen shops. To even further add insult to injury, Juventus announced they have not sold one official Bendtner shirt since he joined the club this summer.
Bendtner, who was reportedly 3.5 times over the legal limit, told Yahoo Sports, “I am incredibly sorry for my actions. I can truly say, that this is the worst day of my life.”
There does appear to be some silver lining for Arsenal supporters. Bundeliga club Hamburg has shown interest in buying Bendtner, who has one more year on contract with Arsenal.
