Manager Harry Redknapp slammed referee Peter Walton over the sending-off of Wilson Palacios in Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 defeat at Blackburn Rovers.
Spurs led 1-0 when midfielder Palacios was dismissed ten minutes from time for a second foul in a matter of minutes on David Dunn and then conceded twice in the closing stages at Ewood Park.
Afterwards, an angry Redknapp said:“It was a diabolical sending-off. He never made contact with Dunn for the second card.
“He was our best player, but even with the sending-off we should have shut the game out. But it gave them a lift.
“I cannot believe what happened, I could not see them scoring. We were in complete control and I was looking for us to get a second.
“We’d dominated the game and I couldn’t see them scoring a goal if they’d played all night when we had eleven.
“But to lose a player who had probably been our biggest player gave them a massive lift. From a game we had complete control of we’ve come away with nothing – unbelievable.”
