It’s Euro 2012 semi-final time and this evening Portugal and Spain go head-to-head in the first semi at the Donbass Arena in Donetsk, which will be covered in our live blog right here on FootballFanCast.com

There can only be one winner in the Battle of Iberia and while reigning European and World Champions Spain go into the match as favourites, you can never discount Portugal when they have Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks.

Portugal have been a force to be reckoned with in Euro 2012 thus far, as they have recovered from an opening defeat against Germany to record three wins in a row against Denmark, The Netherlands and the Czech Republic in the quarter finals. This turnaround has been largely down to one man, as Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has started to fire and provides Portugal’s main threat.

As for Spain, the Euro 2008 and World Cup 2010 winners remain unbeaten in this year’s tournament and have progressed without too much difficult to date. An opening match draw against Italy was followed up with wins against The Republic of Ireland and Croatia, and a 2-0 win against France in the quarter-finals.

Can Spain take another step towards their third consecutive major international trophy or will Ronaldo and his Portugal side upset the odds? Catch all the action here and get involved in our Portugal v Spain LIVE BLOG below…
