Premier League Top 3 entering ‘Hazarderous’ terrain

Whilst Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United do battle for the Premier League, they are also engaging in a fight for Belgian teenage sensation Eden Hazard.

With the 19 yr old winger is being hailed as the next Lionel Messi, It is no wonder the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing the highly rated youngster. Currently plying his trade at French side Lille, Hazard has extremely impressive speed and technical ability and has been lighting up Ligue 1 for the past two years. He currently holds the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year crown and is the first foreigner to do so.

Manchester United is known to have made their interest in the 19 yr old to Lille after Sir Alex Ferguson was extremely impressed with the player’s performances in France this season. With 5 goals in 29 appearances this season the youngster is beginning to show his undoubted potential. Manchester United are keeping tabs on Hazard as they believe he could be a long term replacement for loyal servant Ryan Giggs. Chelsea and Arsenal may have something to say about that.

When asked about Eden Hazard Lille coach Stephane Adam said You have to keep perspective as he is still very young – but he is like Lionel Messi [He shows] the same quality to take on players, not very big, very quick, able to take on two or three players in a small space, the ability to score and create goals. He is not as good as Messi yet, but he has the talent to become this kind of player.’

Arsenal is believed to be one of the Belgium international’s preferred destinations if he leaves Lille. Hazard himself proclaimed ‘Real Madrid and Arsenal are clubs I dreamed as joining as a child. Maybe one day I will play in the Premier League or the Spanish League.’ Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan of the Belgian trickster and he would fit easily into Arsenal’s free flowing philosophy. The only sticking point for the Gunners boss is the £20 million fee it would take to gain Eden Hazard from Lille. The playmaker only signed a contract extension in February till 2014. Such the level of his performances, potential suitors have not been put off.

A £20 million fee would have no such worry for the Chelsea billions of owner Roman Abramovich. After the club’s surprise knock out of the Champions League to Inter Milan it is understood some major surgery is afoot at the Stamford Bridge outfit. With an aging squad the acquisition of the 19yr old Belgium winger would offer the Blue’s some much need youth and electric pace in the squad. Chelsea are monitoring Eden Hazard closely and should any club initiate a bid, expect Chelsea to match it.
