The Star has reported that Danny Batth’s omission from the Wolves squad that beat Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening has handed Jos Luhukay a boost in his attempts to bring the player on loan back to Wednesday after he spent a year on loan with the club in the 2011/12 season.
Premier League new boys Wolves progressed to the next round of the Carabao Cup after beating the Owls 2-0 thanks to a goal from Leo Bonatini and a penalty won and converted by Portuguese forward Helder Costa.
Nuno Espirito Santo left out Wolves’ club captain Danny Batth though in favour of new signing Leander Dendoncker and youngsters Elliot Watt, Pedro Goncalves and Benny Ashley-Sea.
Batth is yet to make an appearance this season after Wolves brought in an array of impressive summer signings and The Star reports that Luhukay is keen to make the 27-year-old his first signing of the season at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter were excited by the links to the Englishman. Check out some of the best tweets below.

I hope Danny Batth's omission from the Wolves squad last night means he's coming home to S6. He's absolutely the player who could really help us at the moment. #swfc

Better in my opinion and more experienced in this division than Van Aken. Would be a shrewd loan.

Where’s this Danny Batth rumour come from? Id love him back at Hillsborough! Remember when Dave Jones said he wasn’t good enough?
