The 10 transfers to ‘inject life’ into Tottenham this summer

Tottenham Hotspur may well be flying high at both home and abroad this season, but their success under Andre Villas-Boas has been made all the more impressive by a striking department that’s offered them very little – if anything at all – in terms of consistency.

Indeed, while Jermain Defoe’s early season glut of goals performed their traditional disappearing act some time before Christmas, the fact Emmanuel Adebayor’s most telling memorable contribution of the season amounted to a red card that prompted utter humiliation in November’s North London derby, you perhaps get an idea of quite how superbly threadbare the Lilywhites’ attack has been this term.

When you’ve got a player like Gareth Bale on your books however, such striking woes don’t feel quite as harmful but moving forward, it’s an area that Spurs simply have to address if they wish to really push on and develop as a club.

With the feeling around White Hart Lane that chairman Daniel Levy may finally make a long-term investment in a well overdue top-class striker at the club, here are ten players that Spurs should be looking at when the transfer market reopens this summer.
