Bayern Munich are 20 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table, which has hardly taken much away from the quality of the rest of the league. With German football clearly on the rise, who wouldn’t want to dip into its vast talent pool?
Brendan Rodgers understands the need to strengthen Liverpool this summer and has been promised at least £20 million to improve the quality on the pitch at Anfield. Fortunately for Liverpool and their transfer policy, much of what has been impressive this season in Germany has come from young talents. At the same time, a possible sale of star names at Bayern this summer could prove to work in the Premier League club’s favour.
On the whole, the Bundesliga has never been about inflated transfer fees, and many clubs in the league work meticulously to get the most of the transfer market. With a budget that is sure to dwarf in comparison to some clubs in Europe, the Bundesliga could be an excellent market for Liverpool.
