There are four days left of the transfer window. Four days left for Arsenal to turn around the absolute shambles of a summer and put something above decent together. Well actually, there are three days left, because Arsenal apparently don’t do business on a Sunday, especially when the team are playing. Three days.
The squad was already done to the bare bones, though I’m sure Wenger would like to think of it as streamlined before labelling it with some kind of negative. But now that injuries have taken their toll, the Arsenal manager has little choice but to go into the market with all guns blazing.
The huge disappointment is that with such little time left, Arsenal are unlikely to get the players they really want or actually need. The biggest names have already gone, at least most of them, and the final big deals are out of the clubs hands. Expect names, but probably not the names to generate as much excitement as was initially anticipated.
