While the Premier League has had the previously unlikely two clubs stealing the majority of positive headlines so far this season in Manchester City and Tottenham, displaying why they are the most exciting to watch in England at the moment and boasting some of the most impressive talents in the league; there have also been a number of big-name performers who have failed to step up and replicate the form that has seen them move for unwarranted transfer fees.
Despite Man City’s impressive spending in the summer market in which most looked on with envious eyes, they have indeed played a part a delivering players who have done little to nothing and have thus deserved to take their place in this list.
Perhaps it was one bad performance that triggered a succession to culminate in a poor season thus far. There have of course been many opportunities in the countless shocking results in the league. But whether it’s big name signings or transfers that have been completed in the background of the big money frenzy, there are enough disappointments—some surprising and some clearly obvious—this season that are notable and at home on this list.
