As Spurs begin the final preparations for their season opener at Newcastle tomorrow, supporters are gearing up for the beginning of a brave new era at White Hart Lane.

Whilst the team are perhaps a little way off being 100% ready for tomorrow's test at St. James' Park, there is a strong foundation of optimism around N17 that Andre Villas-Boas can really kick on and look to attain Champions League qualification for the next term.

But whilst the Portuguese has been brought in to fit in with chairman Daniel Levy's future vision of sustainability and development, the onus will be on him to try and take the team forward where Harry Redknapp failed. And as well as Spurs did to finish fourth last season, there was still plenty of room for improvement.
