Jay Bothroyd, Seth Johnson, Kevin Davies, Michael Ricketts and David Nugent are just some of the names who have all worn an England shirt to the supporters amusement. Needless to say, these average Premier League footballers were never good enough to wear the Three Lions shirt.

Additionally, there are those players on the other side of the spectrum who have become legends for their respective clubs and have featured in the top flight for years and years. However, for some unbeknown reason, these players haven't been regarded worthy enough of an international call-up.

So enjoy my list of the twenty players, past and present who have been excellent for their clubs in recent Premier League year but have also seemingly bypassed the privilege of wearing the coveted white jersey.
