Whether they need more time in a new country, a change of club, or just a change of tactics all players need the right conditions to bring the best out of them. When managers sign players from oversees they often call for patience, and we rarely give it. The combination of the fans’ expectations and the media spotlight on footballers proves too much for many to cope, but for those can cope with pitfalls of football their game can flourish in one of the most competitive leagues in the world. Every fan wants to be proved wrong by the players on their team they complain about. Arsenal fans want to think that Walcott can produce week in week out. Spurs fans want to believe that Lennon can prove his worth against the best and every year players like these are proving their worth, proving pundits wrong in the process.
