Three reasons why Liverpool cannot win the Premier League

Like all good things, they have to come to an end and, sadly for Liverpool fans that happened today. Brendan Rodgers’ side couldn’t continue their fine free-scoring form against West Ham and had to settle for a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

Most surprising of all was the fact that neither Luis Suarez or Daniel Sturridge, who have 49 Premier League goals between them this season, managed to add to their tallies.

With next weekend pitting Manchester City against Liverpool, it is being dubbed the title decider but are Liverpool running out of steam at the business end of the season?

Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool their three points with a brace from the penalty spot. The England captain’s goals from 12-yards come less than a month after he took THREE penalties at Old Trafford.

Surely Liverpool cannot keep getting the rub of the green in the 18-yard box?

No one will deny that Brendan Rodgers is doing a great job on Anfield but neither he, or his squad, have experience of winning the Premier League. Manchester City and Chelsea have a squad full of former Premier League winners and the lads from Stamford Bridge have Jose Mourinho as well.

Liverpool are currently in phenomenal form, however, they’re yet to suffer a real blip a la Arsenal. Sure, they’ve have the odd poor result – the 3-1 defeat against Hull City springs to mind – but they haven’t had a run of bad results; they are due a rough patch.
